MASTER BALLET CLASSES TAUGHT BY:

ADDISON HOLMES (Director/Owner ICON Ballet Competitions)

 

Addison spent her formative years studying ballet under Joyce Seaboryne-Bader, a.r.a.d. for the Royal Ballet School method (R.A.D.), where she passed all exams with Distinction/Honors. Her training includes: Royal Academy of Dance, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet NYC (scholarship), Austin Ballet (scholarship), and Mignon Furman’s American Academy of Ballet (scholarship). Addison has several credits with ballet world renowned ballet companies, including Texas Ballet Theatre, where she performed in several full-length classical ballets. While studying for her BFA on scholarship at Southern Methodist University, she performed in several pieces (ballet, modern, jazz) and was the only female freshman cast by guest artist Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros for his trio piece “Tango Tonto”. During her competitive years, Addison was awarded several prizes and scholarships (Edge, Steps, BDC) including Grand Prize in an for American Academy of Ballet’s Performance Awards ballet competition in NYC. Addison has worked in LA, Europe and NY, dancing in various shows, industrials, commercials, film, TV and music videos.

Addison is known for her never-ending positive energy in the warm and encouraging environment she creates, whether at a private lesson, studio session, or convention ballroom. Her goal is to inspire young dancers and to encourage longevity and artistry.

Miss Holmes is the owner and director of the renown ICON Ballet Competition. The Ballet Studio and Norris Performing Arts Center is honors to have her teach Master Classes for our 2025 Summer Ballet Intensive. Welcome Miss Addison.

CONTEMPORARY CLASSES 

Taught By: Hiroka Nagai

Hiroka Nagai, a Japanese American San Francisco native, is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and choreographer. Ms. Nagai received her classical ballet training with San Francisco Youth Ballet, and additional summer intensive classical and contemporary study with American Ballet Theater, Gelsey Kirkland Academy in NYC, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Hubbard Street Dance, and NW Dance Project. As a student she performed with the ODC Dance Jam, a contemporary dance company, under the direction of Kimi Okada, excerpts for Robert, Moses, and other ballet productions. Ms. Nagai’s soloist and guest roles with the San Francisco Youth Ballet include Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker, Helena in a Midsummer Night’s Dream, Myrta in Giselle, and many others. Ms. Nagai also performed the role of due drop as an invited guest for the New West Ballet School in San Diego. In earning her BFA in Dance from the Tish School of Arts at New York University, she joined collaborations by Shamel Potts, Rena Butler, Raziman Saribini, Chaery Moon, and Grace Yi-Li Tong. Currently, she excels in her role as an Artistic Director of Kogyoku Yosakoi, a Japanese festival dance team based in New York City. In artistic works beyond dance, Hiroka unifies aspects of filmmaking/projection mapping with her years of dance experience, and the goal of transcending the limits of international borders and culture.
